A year ago today

A year ago today I never could have imagined that in just 12 short months we would be enjoying the company of one smiling, cooing and laughing four month old little elephant. Not even after taking the test to the left could I imagine it. (I was starting to get used to the idea a month or so before he was due.) This was the first time in the 8 or 9 years we had been trying to have a baby that we were more than five weeks pregnant so a positive pregnancy test was amazingly good news, whatever the outcome. It was important to me that noone knew, though, since I was only six weeks along and I had a hard time believing that this was really happening. We did tell our parents, though, so they knew what we were going through and could pray for us and support us if things went pear shaped. If I had only known all those years that everything was going to work out so wonderfully...!
